Etihad's own seat map does not use rows 3 and 4, rows 12 to 14, or row 22 on this aircraft. First ends at row 2 and Business starts fresh at row 5; Business ends at row 11 and Economy starts fresh at row 15; and Economy runs 15 to 21 and then picks up at row 23, the row beside the mid-cabin doors, so no seat is numbered 22. Etihad does not say why the numbers are left out; that reading is ours, from its own drawing.
What we could not settle on this aircraft
Etihad publishes three different 787-9 seat maps — this is the one its own header calls "Layout 1", and the only one of the three with a First cabin — and gives no seat total for any of them; its 787 fleet page states only a maximum of "fewer than 336 guests" for the type.
