Why this data is different

Most seat-comfort commentary in this category is built on a handful of flights, a forum thread, or a single reviewer's opinion. Ours comes from the same structured, generated seat-map pipeline that powers every individual aircraft page on this site — real cabin geometry, real row ranges, checked against a fixed set of rules, at a scale no single traveller or newsroom could replicate by hand. When a number changes here, it's because the underlying seat map data changed, not because we re-ran a survey.

We're also explicit about what we don't have yet. Where a stat would need data we haven't collected, we say so rather than publish a number that looks precise but isn't — see the methodology section on each study for exactly what is and isn't included.

What's next

More studies are planned as the underlying seat map data grows — including what it actually costs a family to sit together across the airlines we cover. Each will be published here, in full, with a downloadable dataset, the moment there's real data behind it — not before.
