Two things about the row numbers on this aircraft. Inside the Business cabin, Cathay's own plan numbers the three rows 11, 12 and 14 — there is no row 13, which is the usual superstition rather than a missing row. Between the cabins, Business ends at row 14 and Economy starts at row 39, so rows 15 to 38 are not used at all, and nor are rows 1 to 10 ahead of the Business cabin. Cathay does not say why it numbers this way, and it numbers its other A321neo differently again — Business 10 to 12, Economy from 22 — so this is Cathay's own scheme rather than anything structural. That reading is ours, from Cathay's own seating plan.
What we could not settle on this aircraft
Cathay flies two different A321neo cabins and publishes both as current, on the same fleet page, behind a selector reading "A321neo (32P)" and "A321neo (32Q)". This page is the 195-seat one, Cathay's 32P: 12 Business seats in rows 11, 12 and 14, Economy from row 39 to row 69, and emergency exits at rows 49 and 50. The other is 202 seats, with Business in rows 10 to 12, Economy starting at row 22 and its exits at rows 35 and 55 — fourteen rows and more apart from this one. A row number alone will not always tell you which you are on, because both aircraft use rows 39 to 45 and 55 to 64. What does tell you: an Economy seat in rows 46 to 69, or a Business seat in row 14, can only be this 195-seat aircraft, and an Economy seat in rows 22 to 38, or a Business seat in row 10, can only be the 202-seat one. One more difference worth the money: this 195-seat version has no extra-legroom seats anywhere — Cathay's legend for it does not carry the symbol — while the 202-seat version sells them at row 55. Cathay publishes no seat pitch or width for either, so none is shown on this site.
